Workshop and Trainings

Why Train Farmers?

Women create a greener, more prosperous future when empowered!

Farmers are the most hardworking group of population. They don’t work from dawn till dusk; they work till the job gets done. If we get to eat fresh fruits and vegetables today, it’s only due to farmers.  Yet farmers are the poorest members of society and barely afford two meals a day.

All industries have been revolutionized with the development of scientific knowledge and machines have significantly reduced human work load. Yet more than 500 million farming families are working hard relying on one or two acres of land to make a living. Makomas Foundation`s face to face, hands on training programs provide scientific knowledge to small scale farmers, helping them achieve better yield with less investment.

The Makomas Foundation has  introduced a program to organize and fund monthly workshops, discussions and seminars providing female farmers an opportunity to learn more about topics such as financials, agriculture, better cultivating techniques, preservation of the agro ecosystem, efficient soil and water management, importance and preservation of biodiversity and wildlife, inter-cropping, crop rotation, agricultural funding/loans, agricultural markets etc. The aim of such campaigns is to equip the rural women with the right information that will help them achieve better quality of crops, greater yield using minimal manual work, by using scientific knowledge.

Foundational knowledge and Skill Development along with hands-on practical experience.

How We Train

We do not follow the one size fits all approach, instead we provide customized solutions according to the needs of every farmer. Our experts listen and try to understand the problems of every farmer and then suggest solutions that can work best for them. In our training sessions, we mainly focus on the key agricultural knowledge based on adaptable and practical techniques that can help farming families in real sense. We have a team of region-based native speakers to overcome the language barrier that explain everything in the native language of farmers.

Hands-On Workshop
